Arzew LNG deal goes to Snam Projetti / Chlyoda |

ALGIERS – The national oil company Sonatrach signed Saturday in Algiers with the Italian-Japanese group Snam-Projetti/Chyoda a contract to construct a liquefied natural gas train (GNL3.Z) in Arzew in the presence of Energy and Mining Minister Chakib Khelil and Sonatrach’s Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Meziane.
In a statement following the signing of this project, which works are due to start "shortly", Assistant Director of Sonatrach’s downstream activity Abdelhafid Faghouli said the group aims to produce some 30 million tonnes of LNG by 2012. "The expected increase, by this date in LNG global production will be about 30% compared to that achieved in 2007," he added. |
